Flipped Classroom using Microsoft Flipgrid

 Flipgrid is a Free Online Tool from Microsoft which is primarily used in the Flipped Classroom Approach in student centered learning environment. The Prime focus of this platform is to build empathy by empowering every voice in the classroom.

Educator can use Flipgrid to initiate a discussion with fellow educators or introduce a topic to students. Educator can introduce a topic or intiate a discussion using one of the following features of the FlipGrid.

1. Screen Recording (Record Desktop or Browser Tab)

2. Add a Video Clip (Import A Video Clip from Computer)

3. Record Audio with Video

Students can also submit their Video responses through any of the above mentioned modes. Educator can also give his feedback on every response from students using an inbuilt rubric based on performance and idea.

Educators can collaborate to create and manage a grid in which Video Resources in the time range of 15 seconds to 10 Minutes can be created using FlipGrid. These Video Resources can also be downloaded and shared in the Educator Community.

Flipgrid is extremely useful for inculcation of some key 21st Century Skills like Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Digital Citizenship; among students as well as Educators,

Flipgrid is one of the effective ICT tools for Students’ Engagement as it is dedicated platform to create and share video resources without any distraction like commercial elements or irrelevant video. Further, this tool also quenches the thirst of students to demonstrate their creative skills through Audios or Videos using various ICT gadgets. Thus, Flipgrid is much more than just an ICT tool.
